Winner Poker is based out of Makati City, Philippines and is on the I-Poker network. The site is well-known for its high player rewards and reasonably high traffic.

If you are a high volume player you will love this site. However, if you are looking for a site that has Omaha or any of the other non-hold’em games, then you might want to try a different site.

In order to clarify the strengths and weaknesses of Winner Poker, I assigned a rating from 1 to 10 on seven important considerations.

How is Winner Poker?

Winner Poker has an amazingly high rakeback deal, a great MTT schedule, and fairly loose games when compared to some of the largest networks. Here are the summarized details:

  • Relatively soft games
  • Medium traffic
  • Cash game traffic up to mid stakes. Very sparse high stakes action.
  • Extremely good MTT schedule
  • A lucrative deposit bonus
  • Numerous quick payout options
  • Legit, with a good reputation

Why Play On Winner Poker?

You will not find a better value anywhere else. With many poker rooms going to a recreational model, it is rare to still find a rakeback deal as good as this one. For anyone putting in a serious amount of volume, the importance of getting value back from a poker room cannot be overstated.

The best reason to play on Winner Poker is to play a high volume of solid poker and reap rewards of the lucrative rakeback deal while enjoying one of the best tournament schedules around.

When it comes to rakeback, the more you play, the more they pay. You start with 60% rakeback and can qualify for two higher tiers.  If you rake more than €500 in a month you get 65% rakeback or if you rake more than €2,000  you get 70% the next month.

Overall, with fairly loose games, huge value, and a giant deposit bonus, you really have nothing to lose in trying out Winner Poker. Available for download or on mobile app.

Winner Poker Complaints

I’m not really a huge fan of the automated seating feature on Winner Poker. I prefer the old-fashioned lobbies where you could sit wherever you want. I know this feature is there to balance the games, but it is still really difficult to get seated properly during sessions.

Here are a few things that have room for improvement on Winner.

  1. Table selection is difficult
  2. The software isn’t the best-looking
  3. The site traffic has stagnated and the network has lost some traction

How Soft Are The Games?

The good thing about automated seating is that the best players in the pool have a tough time hunting down the fish. This means that the average game overall is a lot better than on some other sites. At the same time, don’t expect to find too many tables completely full of bad players.

The difficulty in game selection is why I gave it a fish rating of 6. It’s not that there aren’t a lot of bad players, it just hard to find seats with them to your right on a consistent basis.

Is Winner Poker Profitable?

Let’s be honest here. This is not 2005.

The toughest site in the world is probably Pokerstars while the easiest is probably Global or Ignition Poker. If Pokerstars is a 10 and Ignition is a 1 on the toughness scale, then I would say Winner Poker is probably a 4. It’s not super easy, but far from difficult to beat the games. The high rakeback percentage makes up for the slight lack of softness.

How Many Players on Winner Poker?

Winner is part of the I-Poker network currently ranks 10th in the world in overall traffic.  You will never have any problem finding games as they run from micro stakes up through mid-stakes with great regularity.

Is Winner Poker Legit or Rigged?

Winner Poker, nor any other poker site for that matter, have anything to gain from “rigging” the games. Since there is no house, players play against other people. Therefore, there is no vested interest in online poker rooms risking their reputation. Besides, if they did rig the games in some way, smart people would discover it very quickly and it would get exposed.

There has never been a credible case of anyone getting legitimately cheated by the I-Poker Network. Payouts have been fast in recent times and customer service top notch. You can reach them 24/7 by phone, email, or via a live chat.

Is Winner Poker Regulated?

Winner Poker is licensed and regulated by the Malta Gaming Authority.

Are There Bots on Winner Poker?

The I-Poker network does a decent job of ferreting out cheaters and bots on their skins. Even so, there are still likely a few bots here and there that slip through the cracks for awhile.

However, this should not be something to worry about. Humans create bots and humans are really not that good at poker. What bots lack is the ability to make reads based on the table dynamic and adjust accordingly.

Therefore, bots will only be profitable in the softest games. Since bots are so bad and predictable, give me a table full of them any day.

What Random Number Generator Is Used?

Winner Poker is TST certified and has its RNG tested frequently by a 3rd party. Also, the software uses a 128-bit SSL encryption that protects your personal data from prying eyes.

Developed by Playtech, the software on Winner is attractive, functional, and smooth.  The software won’t win any awards and is not in the same league as Pokerstars or Full Tilt, but it does it’s job and isn’t a deal breaker by any means.

Skin Customization Features

There are numerous features offered on The I-Poker Network, here are just a few that might stand out for you:

  • The ability to auto muck your hand and wait for the big blind are both possible.

Rake Rules

As is standard with most other poker sites, no rake is taken before the flop nor in uncalled pots. This works the same in both No-Limit Hold’em and Omaha games.

Winner Poker uses a fixed schedule to calculate rake. This is based on the limit of the table and the number of seats.

Here is the rake schedule for pot limit and no-limit games. To see the rake for limit games, visit the site.

Does Poker Site Have Rakeback

This is the best rakeback deal currently possible on the planet. Here is how the tiers work:

  • 60% starting rakeback for everyone, regardless of volume
  • 65% rakeback for players that rake €500 or more
  • 70% rakeback for players that rake €2,000 or more

The higher percentage activates the following month.  The 65% higher rake continues on forever, and if you rake $2,000 for 3 weeks, you get 70% indefinitely.  Unlike other sites, you don’t need to maintain your rank.

Rakeback is paid out every Tuesday.

Who Is the Target Audience on Winner Poker?

I-Poker is a balanced network that attempts to cater to all different types of players.  At one time, they segregated their recreational players and grinders into two different “tiers”.  However, in mid-2015 they abandoned this model and once again combined the player pools.

Now, the network has something for everyone.  Whether you play on Winner or another skin, it doesn’t matter. You will still receive the same awesome value and play against a player pool balanced between recreational players and grinders wherever you play on the network.

If you want a site that offers similar value try America’s CardroomBlack Chip Poker, or 888 Poker. However, if you are interested in a more recreational site, check out Unibet.

Why Should I Trust Your Opinion on Winner Poker?

I am a real player who has been around the game for over 10 years. I am a best-selling poker author and have spent countless hours teaching and researching better ways of playing poker. I have learned what it takes to win on every poker site and am giving that information away for free to anyone willing to listen.

I have played literally millions of hands on just about every poker network out there. Through hard work, I have managed to become a marginally big winner along the way. Here is the graph from my brief play in 2018.

A Brief History of Winner Poker

Winner Poker as began ins the mid 1990’s as a resource for gamblers. The goal was to teach players how to win at all forms of gambling. In 2010, winner.com was introduced and it has been growing ever since.

Suggested Strategy

There are no specific strategic adjustments for playing on this site. However, the fact that rakeback is most high lends itself to playing as many tables as humanly possible in order to maximize your return.

I recommend getting a good poker setup and then building up to where you can play 12 or more tables at the same time. Play a nice straightforward ABC style and you should be able to maximize your hourly rate. Based on player pool, most effective type of strategy. How the regs play, etc.

Final Thoughts

I don’t get much time to play anymore and instead mostly write about poker I am always trying to find a better way to teach players to improve quickly at the games. My goal is to give accurate and useful information via articles and reviews.

With the limited choices in poker sites today, Winner Poker is a really good option. It’s, in fact, the best option if you want to use a Hold’em Manager or Pokertracker HUD. Otherwise, go with an alternative.
