Well DUH, that is the whole reason I wrote the book and it is clearly stated right in the introduction! I am a regular working guy who was looking for a way to make money at poker as a side income. I decided to share what I found in my book so that people like me could also benefit from a nice side income and a fun hobby.
One blatant untruth is that he says I offered a signed copy of my book to anyone doing a "positive" review. What I offered is a signed copy to anyone that did an honest review, whether positive or negative. As long as it is well thought out and makes sense (and is not an obvious troll), I would give a signed book to them. Actually, only two people took me up on the offer, but they had done the review before noticing my offer.. and didn't request a book. All I did was an hour of coaching for each of them. The other three reviews got nothing out of it and did it because they actually read the book and had something to say.
The reviewer also watched some of my Youtube videos and picked out particular instances where I had made bad plays. I admit that I still make mistakes and am still learning, but he gave no justification for why he thought each play was bad. It is obvious that he likely has no understanding of no-limit hold'em and is only looking to disparage my book because he does not agree with short stacking?
The odd thing is that he recommended other sources if people want to learn about short stacking, namely Ed Miller's book (lol) and gave multiple sources to learn about ranges etc. (by the way, I also list these as tools in my book for learning) He also says that people should play 20 big blinds instead of 30.
This is another tell tale sign that he does not understand the nature of the games. 20 big blinds is not an option on almost all poker sites, especially US only ones. And even if it was, I feel like 30 big blinds offers much more versatility to a player's poker game, 20 big blinds is too much about being a shove bot. Also in my book, but of course, since he didn't read it he would not know that.
He also talks about my red line and thinks that it comes from 3-bet shoving. Another incorrect assumption and a huge misconception that is shared by many out there. While it is true that 3-bet shoving adds to the red line when people fold, it is not the reason that my strategy potentially gives you a positive red line. It is my aggressive stealing game and "raise or fold" mentality that makes the red line positive. And it fact, my strategy does not really "add" to the red line, rather it takes away the plays that "detract" from the red line. In other words, when you stop abusing the calling button, suddenly you are not spewing anymore and the red line no longer nose dives. This information can make anyone's red line stop being so negative, even deep stacked players.
Lastly, he recommends the book to players so that they can learn my strategy and make a counter strategy to "go find me at the tables" to exploit me. I am not sure why the reviewer feels such malice towards me, but it is obvious in his review. I welcome him to join the forum and even read my book so that he can make up his own mind about my strategy in an honest fashion and not in such an obviously ignorant and biased manner.
Update: I just ignored the troll, and won't be seeing anymore of his crap. I looked at his other reviews and he has given multiple one star ratings and is trolling several other books as well. I find all of this very comical and it is not bothering me in any way. It's actually entertaining. I didn't spend over 1500 hours writing a book (trust me, it's a massive undertaking.. try it and you'll see what I mean) to let one idiot discourage me. I have been through some very tough times in my life and nothing trivial bothers me anymore. This is the last I will post anything about this matter, unless someone asks me about it I am done with the subject. I refuse to get into a flaming war with him, because obviously that is what he wants.. I'm sure he gets some kind of morbid pleasure out of doing this kind of thing to others, and I will not give him the satisfaction.
